Dr Jeffrey Loughran
Dr. Loughran worked in industry, largely in an R&D capacity, for 15 years before returning to university to take up an academic role. He holds an international reputation in the application of computational mechanics to large deformation processes, failure of quasi-brittle materials and the modelling of track fixation devices. His list of refereed publications and technical reports to industry exceed one hundred. Dr Loughran's research interests have led to extensive industrial involvement. In 2000 he was responsible for establishing Rockfield Technologies Australia Pty. Ltd., with the purpose of providing a computational technology and consultancy service to Australian and South East Asian industry.
