Rockfield possesses professional capability in delivering engineering measurement services, laboratory materials testing and forensics.
Measurement Instrumentation
Rockfield provides calibration, fitting and monitoring of measurement instrumentation for data capture related to force/load, ultra-sonic thickness, stress/strain, rain-flow fatigue life, structural deflection, temperature and acceleration measurement. Our engineers and technicians programe and install permanent or temporary instruments to provide the necessary machine or structural data collection. Results can be captured both on-site and remotely. Rockfield also offer a unique off-site data monitoring and analysis service as required.

Laboratory Based Engineering Forensic Services
Rockfield also facilitates detailed material studies using micro-graphs, scanning electron microscopy and semi-quantitative X-ray fluorescence testing. These results are important where fatigue and component failures require detailed investigation, together with material contamination studies, metallurgical studies or elemental analysis.
Where specific materials require analysis, Rockfield facilitates appropriate testing for tensile and compressive strength, flexure strength (3 and 4 point), fracture toughness, hardness (Brinell & Vickers) and Charpy impact testing. This service supports third party evaluations and predictive material studies.
